DANCE POWER STAFF
Renee Rocco-Cerchione began her dance instruction in elementary school. She studied tap, ballet and jazz throughout her school years. At the very same time she became a successful gymnast holding three all around top gymnast titles and recognized as a New Jersey State Champion. She also placed first in the state for balance beam. Renee trained with John Traetta, who also coached Mary Lou Rettin during the 1984 Olympics. As a young gymnast she traveled the state doing numerous promotions for large restaurant chains and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As a young dancer she trained in New York City with the likes of Frank Hatchet, Linda Gache and Patsy Swayze (Patrick Swayze’s mother). Renee has done choreography for the NJ Nets and has also worked for the Town of Secaucus as head choreographer for countless local theatre productions. She is certified in Toddler Fitness, Pre-Natal Fitness, Senior Fitness, Step Aerobics, Aqua Aerobics and Body Toning. Renee has also coached the Rutherford Jr. Football cheerleaders to win first place in their very first competition. Born and raised in Secaucus, Renee felt the need to give back to the community that she loved. She opened Dance Power Studio in 1988 in an effort to give to children the wonderful experience of dance and performance. After more than 30 years, close to 100 performances and public appearances, Dance Power Studio has not only taught over a thousand children how to dance but has provided them and their families memories to last a lifetime.
Maleesa Lamatina has her Bachelors Degree from Montclair State University in Human Ecology- Family and Child Studies, and is dual certified in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. She also holds a minor in Musical Theatre. Maleesa is beginning her 11th year of teaching kindergarden for the Secaucus School District, and her 14th year of teaching for Dance Power. Mrs. Lamatina is also the advisor to the Clarendon School Drama Club and Clarendon School Dance Club, and the assistant director of the spring musical at Secaucus High School. Maleesa continues to try and perform in musicals with community theater groups throughout New Jersey (when time allows it). Her favorite role is "Mom" to Gavin and Juliette.
Riccii DeGirolamo .has been dancing since she was three years old, Her focus was on ballet and pointe. She holds a bachelors degree in Elementary, Middle School, and Integrated Science Education, This is Ricci's fourth year teaching elementary science at Huber Street School . She is anxious to apply her experience and knowledge of dance to our students. She is thrilled to be a part of our family at Dance Power Studio. Ricci was pleasantly surprised to find that many of her students at Huber Street School are also her current students of dance.. All of her students were surprised and happy to see her.

Kristy Hall: has been on national television doing commercials for AOL, Guess and Pro-activ. Her dance skill landed her on television networks and radio stations such as The Today Show, MTV, Telemundo, Univision, the Katie Couric show, Jerry Springer, and Hot 97. Kristy has danced on projects for L'Oreal Paris, Gillette Venus, and Guess. Her credits also include dancing with artists such as Chris Brown, Lil Kim, Maino, Chinz, and LMFAQ. Aside from her performing and training accolades, she also travels throughout the U.S. judging various dance competitions. That later inspired her to start her own business and open a small dance convention in the Midwest. Now moving on to different ventures, Kristy Hall is proud to be part of this generation's pop culture of dance, as teaching remains her biggest passion. Alyssa Colon began her dance training at D3 Dance Academy at 3 years of age. She studied various genres of dance such as jazz, ballet, acro, contemporary, pointe, hip-hop, lyrical, and tap. Alyssa worked closely with Eric Campros for ten years. She continued her training at Passaic County Technical Institute with instructors, Jennifer Ackermann and Cassandra Rossi, where she studied ballet, tap, hip-hop, horton and contemporary modern technique. Some of her highlighted performances include "Back to the Future" music video, PCTI Winter and Spring Annual Dance Concerts and Senior Showcases, "Wine Up" music video, Synthesis Dance Project and Annual Recitals for D3 Dance Academy, She has attended Synthesis Dance Project directed by Tracie Stanfield, Summer and Winter Intensives and Junior training program directed by Broadway Dance Center faculty. Alyssa has worked with Carolyn Dorfman, and Pedreina Dance Project. She has received the "Dee Hiller scholarship" from the Art Attack Foundation and National Honor Society Dance Arts award from PCTI. Graduating from PCTI she continued her dance journey at Slippery Rock University In Pennsylvania. After spending two years at Slippery Rock, she transfered back home to Kean University to major athletic training. Alyssa aspires to travel the world, become an athletic trainer for the NFL, teach dance and help children with special needs. |

Nicole Kusinko: Started dancing at the age of five at D3 Dancecenter, and continued dancing and assisting in classes until she graduated from Clifton High school in 2017. She attended Hofstra University, where she had the opportunity to work with a multitude of renowned chorographers such as David Parker, Liz Gerring, Frederick Earl Mosley, Larry Keigwin, Rachel List, Robin Becker, Karla Wolfangle, Anita Feldman, Colin Stilwell and Caroline Copeland.
Nicole also trained with such notables as List, Becker, Wolfangle, Stilwell and Copland as well as Amy Marshall, Heather Waldon, Robert Cook and Alendra Willamson
Nicole is so looking forward to teaching and expanding the minds and creative imaginations of the dancers at Dance Power Studio.
Kayle Ducusin began her dancing career at Dance Power Studio when she was just 3 years old. Her favorite classes to attend were tap, jazz and musical theatre. In Middle Schjool and High School she was " Dance Captain" in the annual /popular SHS spring musicals. She is born and raised in Secaucus product of the Secaucus Public School system she is now finishing up nursing school at Felician University. She has always felt a special connection to children, which is why she is pursuing a nursing career in neonatal or pediatrics. One of Kayla's favorite titles is being an aunt to her 4 nieces, who also love to dance with her. This will be Kayla's first year teaching at Dance Power and she is thrilled to give back to the children in the town she has grown up in. She is beyond excited to finally be a part of the instructor team of Dance Power. We welcome Kayla back to Dance Power and we are truly looking forward to her inspiring and motivating our beautiful dancers.
